From Tel Aviv, you’ll head north to the hills of the Galilee region where you’ll explore important historical sites like the ruins of Caesarea (the capital of Roman Judaea), Mount Carmel, the port of Acre, and the limestone grottos of Rosh Hanikra, accessible via the world’s steepest cable car. Later, visit Safed, one of Judaism’s four Holy Cities where, in the company of a private guide, you’ll stop at the Joseph Caro and Ha’Ari synagogues, meet with Kabbalah artists in a workshop in the Artists Quarter, and explore the Metsuda Citadel, which dates back to the Crusades.
At the Hula Valley Nature Reserve, keep an eye peeled for cranes, storks, pelicans, and other birds on a private tour before visiting one of the world’s oldest synagogues in the Talmudic village of Katzrin and embarking on a private tour of wineries and olive-oil mills in the Golan Heights. (Do not worry, there will be plenty of tastings along the way!) Next, see the Church of the Annunciation and Church of the First Miracle in Nazareth and head into the Gilboa Mountains to the Beit Shean Archaeological Park for a journey back through Israel’s captivating history before heading south to Jerusalem where you’ll witness the incredible Night Spectacular at the Tower of David, a breathtaking light show that serves as a fantastic introduction to the Holy City.
