Arrive in Manaus and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure or enjoy an optional tour of Manaus. Drive through the city, past landmarks such as the Opera House and the Municipal Market. Visit the Manaus zoo, where you can see about 250 species of animals native to the Amazon region.
This morning, depart by boat for a tour of the “Meeting of the Waters” where the Rio Solimoes and Rio Negro rivers meet to form the Amazon. Lunch is served on a unique floating restaurant before continuing to the lodge. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner.
This morning, take a nature walk with a local expert to learn about the fauna and flora and the abundant wildlife of the rainforest. Enjoy a lunch of indigenous flavors before visiting with local residents (caboclos) at their riverside villages with houses built on stilts. Take a boat ride into the swampy inlets for some piranha fishing. After dinner, take a nighttime canoe ride for alligator spotting.
